Not meaning to scare you, but there’s a lot of good stuff to recap, so let’s get started!
There were plenty of conventions lined up over the past month and a half, and it kicked off with Edmonton Expo, with an entrance worthy of rock stars.
Next up was FanBoy Expo in Orlando with a gathering of co-stars from The Lord of the Rings. There are full videos of Elijah’s panel available to view, as well as the panel featuring the rest of the cast.
After that, Elijah went solo for Desert Con in Monterrey, and a portion of his panel is on YouTube.
Finally, the past weekend saw Elijah and Andy at Armageddon Expo in New Zealand.
Andy was already in New Zealand, most likely preparing for his film, The Hunt for Gollum. Elijah arrived a week before the expo and likely had some time with Andy to weigh in on the movie. It’s discussed in the previous video, but if it’s hard to understand, Elijah explained that he’s seen the script, knows of the creative team, and that fans of the lore should feel at ease.
Elijah took in some activities while in New Zealand. At the expo, he joined others on the Rainbow Slide just outside the premises (watch on the left side of the video). He also visited his pal, Ant Timpson, to do a promo for Ant’s 24-hour Movie Marathon.
Not only that, he surprised guests by crashing a wedding taking place in Hobbiton.
Eyewitness report: “While [bride and groom] were signing their wedding documents, Elijah and his family were escorted past the ceremony garden, and had stopped to watch. After the couple had finished signing, I rushed around to meet him and asked him to come and have a few photos with the couple. Being the gentleman he is, he didn’t want to interfere; however, with some friendly encouragement, he stepped in and was welcomed by all.” Now, that’s a wedding to remember! [1] [2] [3] [4]
We all should know by now that a special 25th LOTR Anniversary Tour across North America is planned next year with Fan Expo. The guys had a little trouble and a lot of fun filming the promo for the events.
News came that the next season of Yellowjackets will be the final season. They’ve got a lot of things to tie up, so here’s hoping the season will be extended and sticks the landing.
The Toxic Avenger is out now on home video while continuing its run on streaming platforms. They even gave us an exclusive from its DVD/Blu-ray featurette.
More photos from SpectreVision’s screening of their film, Rabbit Trap are available here, along with a video from those in attendance announcing the film.
I don’t know how long the animated show was in the works, but the classic children’s book, Charlotte’s Web, was sprung on us not long ago, with Elijah voicing adult Wilbur, and it’s available to watch on HBO Max. Also, on HBO, I Love LA starts airing this coming Sunday. Here’s a trailer that shows a hint of Elijah in his single episode.
Do you want to listen to one hour of Elijah’s latest playlist of songs? I listened to it at work one day, and it got me through some trying moments.
Could there be a new Green Street Hooligans film in the works? Leo Gregory, who portrayed Bovver in the 2005 film, suggested there will be. Would Elijah be involved? This is classic “wait and see.”
Mondo has come up with a pretty sweet Over the Garden Wall action figure set of Wirt, Greg, and the Dog. Of course, they’ve already sold out of pre-orders, but you can still be notified when more are available.
Lastly, I came across an interesting video that sort of fits with the Halloween season for the Video of the Month. Want to take a tour of the filming locations from The Faculty?
That’s all… for now, and have a Happy Halloween!
