Every time I look at you, I see many
Lovely and beautiful things.
I can’t enough of you and what you are,
Just can’t imagine my life without you.
And now, you turn another year in your life
Hopefully, one of many more to come.

Dear Mr. Bluebird why do you sing?
Oh, you see, because of everything!
For the sun, the flowers, and even the trees
I’m quite happy with all that I see!
Oh Mr. Bluebird, what a joy!
You’re so happy, oh boy oh boy!
Tell me your secret, please, real quick!
Doesn’t matter if clouds are thin or thick
Look for the good, no matter the case!
Always keep a smile on your face
And maybe a song in your heart!
Now I must go, for I’ve done my part!
But oh Mr. Bluebird, please tell me why!
Real quick now, before we say goodbye!
Real quick then, for I really must go!
We should not be weighted down so
By mean people and sorrow and fear
We must make the most of our time here
For we will all leave one day
And now we must part ways!
Farewell and thank you Mr. Bluebird!
For your time and wise words
I wish you could stay and talk some more!
Same here, but I must go before
Winter sets in and it gets real cold
Now’s the best time when it’s all gold

When I return with all my friends!

A Cheery Song
To hear a choir of bluebirds sing
Oh such a wondrous thing!
They make every day such a happy time
With their upbeat tunes, rhythm, and rhyme!
Ask about their color and name, you’ll see
How they got it is no real mystery
The sky above provides a clue
It’s no wonder why they’re blue!
When they sing, the clouds seem to fly
This way and that, revealing a sapphire sky
The sun shines through without a care
Like a crystal with sparkle and flare
Letting us know that life still has its ups
To get over the downs with a half-full cup.
So follow the bluebirds on their cheerful path
Forgive and forget all wrongs, sorrows, and wrath
Lead a life filled with love and cheer
Be good to those whom you meet here
And maybe we’ll see each other again soon
Somewhere far beyond the moon.

Enchanting music comes floating off the sheet
Lyrics are bouncing in time to the beat
Inspiring listeners to get up and move
Jazz is the sound that makes you groove
Artistic dance steps liven up the hall
Harmony and rhythm, at the midnight ball

Musing on Music
Music is magic for the ears
Music can bring us to tears
Music is a language all by itself
Music can help when times are tough
With a little tap from the conductor’s baton
Come the first notes of the orchestra’s song.
The melody rises into the air like a mighty bird
Conveying meaning and emotions without a word.
The tune goes up and down to stay in the air
Like the wings of a bird, to get everywhere.
It feels like the music is taking us for a ride
To magical places, though we’re still inside.
To let our minds soar with such beauty is a God-send,
But, as with all things, even this journey must end.
As the orchestra reaches the end of its symphony,
So too our minds come to the conclusion of a journey;
And even though the music is bringing us back in
It leaves us with a sense of peace from within.

Electric blue is the color of his eyes
Like a clear morning of cloudless skies
It’s great to see him laugh and smile
Just to see the stars in his eyes a while
And though he looks like an angel from above
He still needs a woman’s devotion and true love.

Two special flowers grow in the meadow
Tending to lean towards the river’s flow
Growing tall and steady, reaching for the sun
Bringing joy and cheer into the lives of everyone.
To see forget-me-nots, bluebirds will go extra miles
For their steadfastness and simple styles.
They value those who are honest and true
Always rocking the land in shades of blue.
The carnations live a life so glamorous and grand
The larks swoop in and become a live band
Swinging and swaying to music of the show
They parade around in all shade of the rainbow.
It becomes a regular party when nighttime falls
With weeping willows acting as the castle walls
Music surfs in and out of the midnight air
Bringing joyous sounds to weary ears everywhere.

A Birthday Wish

Blue Captivation
Eyes so captivating,
Eyes so true.
Eyes lighter than the sky,
Yet deeper than the oceans of blue.
Full of Trust, Emotion, and Enchantment.
Sincere, Hope, and Generosity,
Only with a hint of Curiosity.
His eyes that is the key to light her way,
Out of this dark and gloomy day.
The rain came pouring down,
As is swept across the town.
And there he saw the young girl,
Who seemed as if she was off in her own world,
Elijah certainly did not want to cause a fuss,
In yet he didn’t care-it was a must.
Taking off the coat and seeing the girl shiver,
He was positive that he was feeling his own lips quiver.
For moments the rain had dropped,
Oh, could it ever be stopped?
Pulling the girl towards his damp shirt,
Elijah then noticed so much filthy dirt,
Her shirt that used to be so blue,
Still was forever true.
He knew.
Looking up at him with such temptation,
She knew.
That he was genuinely a blue captivation.

Elwood Who’s So Good
A Dr. Seuss Parody

In eastern Iowa
Where fields of corn do grow,
Year 1981
A new baby did show.
He was named Elijah
Has a mom named Debbie.
Locked her out of the house
When he was less than three! :-O
As he grew she found that
He had much energy
Climbed up on everything
And was called the Monkey.
So all he would do was to
Run!
Run!
Run!
Run!
And Debbie just could not
keep up with her son.
And then
An idea Struck!
Watching TV, what luck!
She looked!
Then she saw something that do he could!
She looked!
And she saw it!
At that he’d be good!
And she said to self:
“Send him to model I should!”
“I know that it’s new
But I’m sure he could do it.
I’ll sign him and Zach
Together to go through it.”
She found model school
And the brothers went there.
And then to L.A.
They all flew through the air.
Elijah so impressed
An agent at the show
That into acting
He decided to go.
So the family moved
From Midwest to L.A.
With his sister Hannah,
But, dad Warren did stay.
And it didn’t take long
For Elwood to turn pro
He soon had a role
In music video.
And agent said “Yes! Yes!
You sure will make it here!
You’re Elwood Who’s So Good
With talent” that is clear!
“This is fun!” said Elwood
“I am having a ball!
This is fun!” said Elwood
And he could play roles all:
A Video Game Boy,
Sean, Michael Kaye also
Luke, Willard Young, and Mike
Little Boy, Nat, Day-O,
Mark Evans and North
And the well-known Huck Finn
Stu Simmons in The War
Elwood just jumped right in.
Look at him!
Look at him!
Look at him now!
It is fun to play roles
But you have to know how!
Was Sandy in Flipper,
Got to swim with dolphins!
Mikey in The Ice Storm
Artful Dodger Dawkins.
Leo in Deep Impact,
The Faculty’s Casey
Barney, Wren, second Sean
And another Mikey.
That’s impressive so far
Elwood’s career stood tall.
But, that is not all!
Oh, no.
That is not all. . .
The best was yet to come
The role of a lifetime
In a big trilogy
Elwood got the role prime.
Made an audition tape
With a costume rental.
Filmed it up in the hills
From more than one angle.
And that got him the part
As the hobbit Frodo
In the Lord of the Rings.
To New Zealand did go.
They filmed for 16 months.
He made lifelong friends too.
And with these three big films
Elijah’s fame just grew.
Elwood’s fan base increased,
Fan websites did appear.
Lucy’s A&F won
A prize year after year.
And so what was next
For Elwood Who’s So Good?
Did he pack it in,
Hang out in his neighborhood?
No! “I just like to act.
Oh, I like it a lot!”
Said Elwood Who’s So Good
To stop now I will not.
I will not go away.
I do not wish to go!
And so, said Elwood Who’s So Good

Cameo as The Guy,
Became a Hooligan

Stole panties as Patrick
In Eternal Sunshine.
As Sin City’s Kevin
On people he did dine.
Played tourist in Paris,
Voiced penguin who can’t sing,
William at the hotel
To see Bobby speaking.
As Aaron gets drafted
In the film Day Zero.
For The Oxford Murders
To England he did go.
Then they needed extras
For scene in lecture hall,
So some fans that I know
Were there to heed the call.
Lent his voice to some games
Three of them as Spyro,
Plus new one based on Rings
So returned as Frodo.
And voiced a doll for 9,
Will do Spyro movie,
Had a few short guest spots
On some shows on TV.
He will play Iggy Pop
If they make that movie,
And, in Hobbit prequels
The same folks we may see.
What else will future hold
For Elwood Who’s So Good?
Well, we can’t really tell,
Though I wish that we could.
He might choose to direct
Or produce a movie,
Or make use of passion
Has for photography.
He’ll work on his label
Which he calls Simian.
And support good causes
Like I am African,
He’ll do art with sick kids
Stuck in the hospital
Art of Elysium’s
Group that makes possible.
And as for other things,
That Elijah may do.
Well. . .

She has thought of gifts a plenty
For a man of eight and twenty,
Chocolates, pens, an elephant, he
Would have got them if he could.
So she settles on a letter
He might read it, so it s better
He may never get the sweater

Crawling around and playing with toys.
Nobody knows what he’ll grow up to be,
Too far in the future for them to see.
Full of life, full of joy,
An amusing, outgoing little boy.
Moves to LA on the wings of a dream,
Starting a life on the silver screen.
Bright-eyed teen idol, child no more,
Professional actor with roles galore.
Teenager to adult, and cygnet to swan,
The roles keep coming and the show goes on.
