Always & Forever: Elijah Wood

Did you tune in to watch Elijah’s live Skittles commercial earlier this month? It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but I had no idea what to expect. In case you didn’t watch, it’s still on YouTube. There are some images from that evening’s activities.

So, they do this thing where they rank the Super Bowl commercials. Outlets such as Vogue, Chicago Tribune, SportsNet, and Ad Age have their best and worst. No need for concern. The Skittles live ad stuck the landing.

Empire Magazine has treated us to some exclusive content. First, their Lord of the Rings 25th anniversary edition is out. They have also spotlighted the upcoming film, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, just ahead of the world premiere at SXSW. Both sets of magazine scans can be viewed here.

With less than a month to go, the promotions for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come are in full gear. If you don’t mind getting deeper into the story and being spoiled, there are numerous videos, interviews, and shorts across YouTube and Instagram to watch. I’m staying as far away from them as I can until I actually see the movie.

I did catch two non-spoiler videos featuring some of the cast. One is directly tied to the film, while the other, featuring Elijah is related to it. We’ll find out how that ties in eventually. Also, a second trailer is out. Don’t forget to hop over to Searchlight’s site to get your advanced tickets.

Here are Elijah and Sarah Michelle Gellar getting set for some press junkets. I think the last proper one he conducted was about 10 years ago for Cooties, so this will be a treat.

And this past Tuesday, Elijah, Samara Weaving, and Kathryn Newton held a Reddit AMA session. If you missed out, you can read it here.

The latest convention, Fan Expo Vancouver, is in the books, and here are a bunch of photos from the event, including some taken by Elijah.

This is something the Fan Expo folks haven’t done before. At MegaCon Orlando, they’re hosting a breakfast for fans with Elijah, Sean, Billy, and Dom. But at those prices, a second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper should be included.

Though it’s not the full Q&A panel, there is some footage from Fan Expo New Orleans.

A Roadmap to Happiness’ countdown didn’t premiere the show because they’re still working on it. However, a couple of new images have been shared. [1] [2] While you wait on what’s to come, you can listen to creator Darin Olien’s podcast to learn more.

Another short video from Elijah’s time at Sundance talking about the docuseries has been posted on YouTube, which, for some reason, repeats.

Production on the final season of Yellowjackets began earlier this week and announced new cast members. Additionally, word has come that the showrunners inked a deal to continue their collaboration with Paramount to develop more stories. I’m just spitballing here, but because it’s been brought up many times, how incredible would it be if a Misty and Walter series were among those new narratives? That is, if they survive the final season.

Again, with the mistaken identity between Elijah and Daniel, but both are good sports about it. They really need to do a brother project together and just get it over with.

Elijah shares the four theater experiences that have resonated with him over the years.

Fan favorite, Over the Garden Wall, is finally making its way to Blu-ray in April.

Now that you’ve bounced around the site from the links, have you noticed anything? It’s been 5 years since our launch, and I felt it was time to refresh some images across several areas. I’m toying with the idea of changing the main page’s image, but I’m quite attached to it.

I came across a behind-the-scenes video from Elijah’s youth while he was working on Radio Flyer, and I thought it would be great for February’s Video of the Month. It includes many scenes from the film, but some on-set footage that starts around 4:15, which I haven’t seen before.

That’s all… for now.
