Earlier this month, Bookworm opened in New Zealand to fantastic reviews from sources like IndieWire, Flicks and Stack. But the biggest honor to be bestowed on the movie is winning the Audience Award for Best International Film at the Fantasia Film Festival. Congratulations!
It recently had its European premiere at FrightFest in the UK last week, and the praise keeps coming from Starburst and Filmhounds.
Those who worked on the film have showered us with plenty of images from the production. Because of that, Bookworm has a space of those photos that you can check out in the productions section.
With FrightFest in the UK and the Melbourne International Film Festival premiering Bookworm, it’s finally hitting US soil with its screening at Fantastic Fest in Austin. I wonder what chaos Elijah and Ant will bring to a movie festival where chaos reigns?
Pretty reliable sources like the director and star both commenting on Instagram that Bookworm will be released in the US on October 18th. It will also be released on many digital formats on November 11th, and the soundtrack is out right now, which you can download or stream on Amazon Music.
Amid all the promotions are some print interviews Elijah gave with The Press, and Ensemble, (which focuses on one of the things Elijah loves… food), a video interview, and the podcast Q with Tom Power. Also, Ant Timpson talked about working with Nell, Elijah and what it was like working on a new genre of filmmaking.
Closing the pages on Bookworm for this recap, let’s get into the Tampa Bay Comic Con that wrapped up last weekend. Check out some photos and no sooner than the con ended, a video from Elijah and Andy’s Q&A was uploaded for us.
It’s always a treat when Wooden Wisdom gets out to spin extraordinary tunes. Click for some photos from their appearance at Rare Evo.
Getting into the Unknown can be fun! Coming just in time so you can get your hands on them for the Halloween season, here is some amazing Over The Garden Wall apparel.
The first live recorded podcast of Visitations held at SXSW in March is now available on SpectreVision Radio, and another live conversation is scheduled next week.
It’s been pretty hush-hush on any news about filming the next season of Yellowjackets until this signature YJ teaser was dropped a few days ago. Season 3 is expected to air on Paramount+ sometime next year.
We received another teaser, this time a promo still and a trailer from the new horror movie The Monkey, which is due in February.
With all these movie festivals, promotions, conventions and filming going on, Elijah still finds time to hang with fans in Detroit, Michigan, [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] Newport, Rhode Island. [1] [2] [3] and a couple of buddies taking a trip for this weekend’s Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia.
In a new interview on his career, Courtney B. Vance, who portrayed Jim in The Adventures of Huck Finn, relives an astounding moment when he and Elijah went swimming. Scroll half way down the page for the that detail.
With that account still fresh, I’ve chosen for the Video of the Month, a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of Huck Finn.
That’s all… for now.
